The band does not stay one width. It thickens gradually towards the front of the ear into a smooth, rounded swell, then tapers away again to a fine point at either end — a shape closer to something found in nature than one drawn with a compass. Seen side on, that swell reads as a soft almond with a subtle ridge running down its length.

Everything else is deliberately quiet. The back half of the hoop is a slim flat band, and a hinged fitting clicks shut behind the lobe, so the earring sits tight with no separate back to lose and nothing hanging below the ear.

Made from a brass core and finished in 18K gold plating at 3 microns, the plating gives the curved surface its deep, champagne gold colour and a finish built to stand up to daily wear. Hypoallergenic and gentle against sensitive skin.

At this scale the polish does most of the work. Light travels along the swell and pools at its widest point, so a very small earring still registers across a room, and there is enough shape here to wear on its own without anything else in the ear.
